Connecting Landscapes - #51711

48 x 96 inches - Oil/Mixed Media on canvas
Detail Bottom Middle

There are 5 paint by number paintings embedded into this larger painting on canvas along with a reversed needlepoint. It seemed like a good idea at the time! It was exhibited at the Stratton Arts Festival over 10 years ago when they had an annual juried state wide contemporary art show.

It still looks great, and would be fantastic in a conference room or lobby wall!

Beach Cottage - #51112

16 x 16 inches Oil on canvas

This is a revisit to earlier version below.

It turns out when I return to Vermont studio after being away all winter, and see older paintings that need a bit of tuning up, it's fun to rework.

It's always nice when there's clarity about the weak spots, and how to improve them!

Boone Garden - #51011

8 x 10 inches Oil on canvas

Gilgrease had a plein air paint out while I was visiting my brother in Tulsa in April. I thoroughly enjoy the museum, and it was an exquisite spring late afternoon when we started painting. Louise Biggs was facilitating and so terrific. I'm sorry I missed seeing Margaret Aycock who is her good friend and posts regularly on her daily painting blog. Next year Margaret!

6 x 6 inches Oil on birch ply
This is the statue in front of the Gilgrease Museum in Tulsa OK.

Springtime here in April with the blooming azaleas and gardens is gorgeous.Allan Houser's "Sacred Rain Arrow"

And here's another archer made in 1909

Emile-Antoine Bourdelle's famous Heracles Archer sculpture.
It is in collections in New York, at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, and also at the National Gallery in Prague.

Undressed Matador - #5811

6 x 6 inches Oil on Birch Ply

Well recalling this painting did occur to me.
How unfortunate I did not have a rectilinear canvas to get the entire figure in!

Daffodils - #5711

6 x 6 inches Oil on birch ply SOLD

~Happy Mothers Day~

After traveling by car from AZ back to VT over last 4 weeks, ready to post again.

Springtime was nice on the travels, but not much in bloom upon return to Vermont other than daffodils.

Trees will be much later. It was a wet and cold April.
